Melissa Cooper, CAP/PLS, is working with Donna Gilliland of MOSTraining to plan a highly technical seminar this year. More information and pricing will follow. All proceeds from the seminar will fund scholarships to business students in financial need. The Birmingham Chapter has awarded over $9,000 scholarships over the past 5 years.

60th Annual Administrative Professional's Day® Luncheon

Guest Speaker: Pete Blank
A 13-year Disney veteran, Pete has been speaking and training for almost twenty years in a variety of industries. He received his BA from the University of Florida and his MHR from Rollins College. He serves as the leadership trainer at the Personnel Board of Jefferson County where he shares leadership lessons with over 9,000 civil service employees. He is also the President of Alabama Training, Leadership And Strategy (ATLAS). 
 

Chapter Meetings and Events

The Birmingham Chapter holds monthly business meetings on the 3rd Tuesday of each month (except July/August/December) at 5:45 pm at the Birmingham Botanical Gardens.

An annual professional development seminar is held each February or March to raise money to provide scholarships for students pursuing a degree in business. The chapter has awarded over $9,000 in scholarships over the last five years.

In addition, the Birmingham Chapter holds an annual Administrative Professionals Day® Luncheon at The Club. Over the years, Administrative Professionals Week® has become one of the largest workplace observances. The event is celebrated worldwide, bringing together millions of people for community events, educational seminars and individual corporate activities recognizing support staff. APW is always the last full week in April with Administrative Professionals Day falling on Wednesday of that week.

International IAAP Meetings & Events

EDUCATION FORUM AND ANNUAL MEETING

The International Education Forum & Annual Meeting is IAAP’s premier event taking place during the summer with over 1,200 attendees. This event offers more than 50 education workshops focusing on topics from management skills to leadership development. Attendees will have the opportunity to see the inner workings of the association by attending the business sessions that highlight the association leadership. And don’t forget the numerous networking events that provide social gatherings with your peers.

ADMINISTRATIVE PROFESSIONALS WEEK

Since 1952, the International Association of Administrative Professionals has honored office workers by sponsoring Administrative Professionals Week. Today, it is one of the largest workplace observances outside of employee birthdays and major holidays.

SPRING CONFERENCE

The Spring Conference is held each March. It is a 2½ day conference held in North America providing opportunities to network, share ideas, problems and solutions with other admins. You will have the opportunity to hear three to four top-notch presenters and return to your job with renewed enthusiasm and ideas. You will also receive recertification points if you are an active CPS and/or CAP holder. CEU is available as an alernative to recertification points.

FALL CONFERENCE

The Fall Conference is held each October in various locations in North America. This 2½ day conference provides opportunities to network, share ideas, problems and solutions with other admins. You will have the opportunity to hear three to four top-notch presenters and return to your job with renewed energy and vitality. You will also receive recertification points if you are an active CPS and/or CAP holder. You can receive CEU as an alernative to recertification points.
